Why doesn't my Doctor have all this information?

Your Doctor could spend 8 hours a day reading medical journals and reports from medical conferences and still not learn about all the new studies that are being done.  The most widely circulated studies are those which support a high profit prescription medication.  They are reviewed with Doctors, detailed, and submitted to the media by the pharmaceutical companies because it is in their best interest to generate the publicity. 

Can a Chiropractor Recommend Nutritional Supplements?

State law provides the answer to this question. 

In California, as cited in Tain v. State Bd of Chiropractic Examiners (2005) [Cal.App.4th], "Cal. Code Regs., tit.16, Section 302, subd. (a)(1) of the Chiropractic Act allows duly licensed chiropractor[s] to use all necessary mechanical, hygienic, and sanitary measures incident to the care of the body, including, but not limited to air, cold, diet, exercise, heat, light, massage, physical culture, rest, ultrasound, water, and physical therapy techniques in the course of chiropractic manipulations and/or adjustments, including vitamins, food supplements, foods for special dietary use, or proprietary medicines not considered to be within the realm of medical practice."

In Connecticut, Chapter 372 of the state code, Section 20-28 Scope of Practice states:

(b) Any chiropractor who has complied with the provisions of this chapter may:
(1) Practice chiropractic as defined in section 20-24, but shall not prescribe for or administer to any person any medicine or drug included in materia medica, except vitamins, or perform any surgery or practice obstetrics or osteopathy;
(3) Treat the human body by manual, mechanical, electrical or natural methods, including acupuncture, or by use of physical means, including light, heat, water or exercise in preparation for chiropractic adjustment or manipulation, and by the oral administration of foods, food concentrates, food extracts or vitamins;
